Kentucky has more miles of waterways than any state other than Alaska. And Alaska's just a tad bit larger.

Crowning the Commonwealth is the Ohio River. Events on the River include the Great Steamboat Race, the Madison Regatta, and Thunder Over Louisville---one of the world's largest fireworks display.

Six-mile, Twelve-mile, and Eighteen-mile Islands lie mid-river and provide excellent spots for an afternoon cookout or a weekend camping trip.

Dining establishments like Captain's Quarters offer fine food and docking slips.

With the power of a Rinker, there's no reason you can't take a trip up to Cincinnati. For in-your-face decadence, there's nothing like a boat trip to the Queen City, followed by dinner at the world - renowned Maisonette.

Other readily accessible recreation areas include Taylosrsville Lake, Rough River Dam, and Lake Cumberland. All of these are excellent spots for fishing and water sports.
